Orange County Mom Becomes Internet Sensation For Tantrum Lip-Syncing Video
HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — An Orange County mother has become an Internet sensation because she decided to lip-sync her daughter's pre-bedtime tantrum.
As KCAL9's Andrea Fujji reports, during Danielle Aprea's night-time routine last week, the 4-year-old had a big outburst.
"I just thought, you know what, I know exactly what she's going to do right now," said Jennifer Aprea, Danielle's mother.
That's when Aprea decided to try a tactic she'd never tried before: lip-syncing the tantrum.
"She was kind of on this little spiral of scream, scream, scream, and then she threw in the, 'you'll pay for this!' "
The 50-second video has received lots of attention, most of which was positive, but there are critics.
"'Oh, you're a horrible mom.' 'How could you do that? 'You're cyber bullying your daughter.' 'She's going to need therapy,' " Aprea said her critics have said.
But since the video, Danielle hasn't had a major tantrum, and Aprea says it might just be because she's seen what it looks like.
"I just thought, I think if she saw how ridiculous this looks, she might laugh and think it was kinda funny and move on from it," she said.
