Stolen Vehicle Pursuit Ends South Of Baker After 3-Hour Chase With Suspect In Custody
TEMECULA (CBSLA.com) — A three-hour pursuit of a stolen vehicle came to an end south of Baker Monday with the suspect in custody.
California Highway Patrol officers began chasing the stolen black BMW around 1:30 p.m. after a traffic stop in Escondido, according to a spokesman.
The suspect had reached the Cajon Pass area around 2:45 p.m. and continued driving northbound on I-15, passing through Barstow around 3:45 p.m.
The suspect was reportedly seen waving a cellphone through the car window during the chase.
Shortly after 4:30 p.m., the suspect pulled over on I-15 and was taken into custody, according to a spokesperson for the CHP Inland Division.
