3 Suspects Arrested In Connection To Fontana Home Invasion Robbery

FONTANA (CBSLA.com) — Police announced the arrest of three suspects Tuesday that were wanted for allegedly committing a home invasion robbery.

According to the Fontana Police Department, around 2:49 p.m. Monday, three suspects — later identified as Joseph Granados, 23, Isaias Garcia, 19, and Jessica Acevedo, 33 — entered a home in located in the 8300 block of Cherimoya, and tied a female victim up using an extension cord.

The suspects allegedly held the victim at gunpoint, demanded money and threatened to kill her while moving her from room to room, officers explained.

Authorities said the suspects were unable to locate any money, and left the residence in the victim's vehicle, which was described as a 2004 Chevy Tahoe.

A short time later, the victim's juvenile daughter came home, and untied her mother. The woman suffered minor wounds to her hands from being tied up, officials said.

Around 8:30 p.m., officers conducted a follow-up investigation in Ontario when the stolen Tahoe was located.

Police said one of the male suspects fled from the passenger seat, armed with an AK-47, and pointed it toward an officer.

Garcia and Granados then jumped over the wall into a mobile home park, located in the 1800 block of East Riverside Drive.

According to police, the suspects barricaded themselves inside space number 53, and a perimeter was subsequently set up by police and SWAT team members.

Several homes in the area were evacuated for a short time, authorities added.

A search warrant was served, which led to the arrest of both Garcia and Granados. Police said Acevedo was arrested at a separate location.
