Azusa Man Gets 25 Years In Prison For Sexual Assault Of Girl, 10
POMONA (CBSLA.com) — An Azusa man was sentenced Wednesday to 25 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl.
Victor Martinez, 48, pleaded no contest last month to one count each of sodomy by use of force on a victim under 14, sexual penetration by a foreign object, committing a lewd act on a child and dissuading a witness.
Martinez, who was a friend of the victim's family, took the girl to get some food Oct. 20 and drove her to the back of a local shopping center, authorities said. He sexually abused her as she pleaded with him to stop then threatened her if she told anyone what happened, according to prosecutors.
The girl – who was taken back to her mother after nearly an hour – confided in her mother two days later and authorities were notified.
Azusa police said they lured Martinez to a shopping center, where he made statements "that confirmed his involvement" in the child's molestation.
