2 Accused Of Robbing Big Bear Vacation Home In Custody

BIG BEAR CITY (CBSLA.com) — A man and woman remained in custody Friday on suspicion of robbing a vacation home Thursday afternoon.

According to the Big Bear Sheriff's Station, deputies were sent around 1:30 p.m. Thursday to a vacation home in the 700 block of Big Bear Boulevard.

A preliminary investigation revealed Richard Meza, 22, and Kathleen Diaz, 21, made entry to the home by kicking in the front door.

Deputies explained Meza and Diaz were hiding inside the residence after committing a burglary.

They were taken into custody without incident and were booked into Big Bear Jail on felony burglary charges.

Meza was also booked on a misdemeanor charge of providing false identification to a peace officer, and multiple warrants. He remains in custody without possibility of bail, deputies said.

Diaz is being held on $25,000.

Meza and Diaz are expected to appear for their arraignment Jan. 20 at San Bernardino County Superior Court.
