3 Suspects Accused Of Burglarizing Thousand Oaks Home In Custody

THOUSAND OAKS (CBSLA.com) — Three Los Angeles residents were in custody Saturday for allegedly burglarizing at least one home in Thousand Oaks.

According to the Thousand Oaks Police Department, officers were sent around 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday to the area of Triunfo Canyon Road, near Arnmoor, for report of suspicious male and female looking into the window of a home.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the resident confronted the two suspects, who reported they were looking for their lost dog. They did not want to leave contact information, however, in case the resident located the missing dog.

The resident explained to police that the suspects seemed suspicious after they entered a vehicle with a third person waiting inside.

Witnesses described the suspects as a man and woman who were driving newer vehicles with dealer plates.

Officers conducted a traffic stop when they observed a vehicle with dealer plates leaving the neighborhood, which subsequently led to the arrest of Chloe Freer, 24, Robert Crockett, 36, and Rayshaun Flowers, 28.

Evidence revealed Freer, Crockett and Flowers allegedly committed at least one residential burglary, and were in the process of attempting another, when they were confronted by the homeowner.

Investigators explained they located evidence of burglaries inside the suspect vehicle.

According to police, there has been a significant increase in residential burglaries acrossd Los Angeles and Ventura Counties over the last several months.

Burglars have reportedly followed a pattern of knocking on front doors to homes to determine if anyone was around, officers explained.

If a resident answered the door, burglars would make up a reason for being there. If no one answered, they would go around back and force entry into the home.

In some cases, residents who did not answer the door while at home still encountered burglars that forced entry into their residence.

Freer, Crockett and Flowers are being held on $500,000 at the Ventura County Jail for residential burglary and attempted residential burglary.

They are scheduled to appear in court at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.

Any additional victims or witnesses who have information regarding this case are urged to contact police at (805) 494-8221 or (805) 947-8108.
