2 Men Found In Possession Of Stolen Property, Narcotics, Weapon Arrested In Simi Valley

SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — Two men were arrested Saturday after being found in possession of stolen property, narcotics and a weapon in a residential neighborhood.

According to the Simi Valley Police Department, officers were sent around 3:00 a.m. to a home located in the 1800 bock of Denham Court after receiving a call from a resident reporting an unidentified person was seen in their backyard on security video.

Being that the suspect had left prior to officer's arrival, they conducted an area search, and observed a vehicle leaving neighborhood.

Officers explained they stopped the vehicle, which prompted an investigation that located property believed to have been stolen from vehicles and backyards in the nearby area.

Although no property was taken from the victim's home, authorities explained there were at least three additional vehicles that were ransacked by the same suspects in the North to South area of Cochran Street and Los Angeles Avenue, and the West to East area of First Street and Erringer Road.

Police explained the crimes took place between 11:00 p.m. Friday and 4:00 a.m. Saturday.

In addition to stolen property, an Asp baton, methamphetamine and narcotic paraphernalia were recovered from the stopped vehicle.

Subsequently, Marcus Anderson, 20, and Marc Loebel, 33, were taken into custody by officers at the scene.

Anderson was arrested for misdemeanor charges of prowling, possession of stolen property, conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of narcotic paraphernalia, and a felony charge for transportation of illegal narcotics.

Loebel was arrested for misdemeanor charges of hot prowl burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of narcotic paraphernalia and felony charges for transportation of illegal narcotics and possession of an Asp baton.

According to police, Anderson and Loebel were both on Ventura County probation for stolen property and illegal narcotic offenses at the time of their arrests.

They are being held at the Ventura County Sheriff's Jail.

If you are a victim of a recent vehicle theft, or theft of property from your backyard in the identified area during the specified time frame, you are urged to call the Simi Valley Police Department at (805) 583-6950.
