Woman In Custody In South Pasadena Hit-And-Run That Injured Family, Killed Dog

SOUTH PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — A 38-year-old woman was in custody Tuesday on suspicion of injuring a family of three and killing their dog in a hit-and-run in the San Gabriel Valley.

South Pasadena police identified the suspect as Tiffani Monique Lowden, who was arrested around 11:20 p.m. Monday.

Bryan and Alexandra Hollen, and their infant daughter, were hit by the suspect in a newer SUV around 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Orange Grove Avenue and Columbia Street.

The driver stopped momentarily then fled, police said.

Alexandra Hollon, who sustained a broken nose, said "We both landed on the hood of the car, and then it started to slow down and then it accelerated."

Hollon's daughter sustained two skull fractures. Both were released from the hospital Monday.

Her husband Bryan was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The family's 7-year-old Boston terrier named Babell was killed in the crash.

Lowden was being held on $50,000 bail.
