Shooting Death Investigation Underway In Santa Ana

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — Detectives investigated the circumstances surrounding a shooting Saturday that killed one man and injured another in Santa Ana.

According to the Santa Ana Police Department, officers were sent to the 800 block of North Jackson around 7:11 p.m. Friday regarding a male who was shot.

Once on scene, they found two adult males that had sustained gunshot wounds.

Officials explained they transported the victims to UCI Hospital for treatment, however, one of the men subsequently died from his injuries.

According to detectives, a preliminary investigation revealed both victims were standing in front of a residence when two male suspects approached and engaged them in conversation, and fired several shots at the victims.

At this time, no description has been provided of the suspects. It remains unknown if they fled from the scene on foot or in a vehicle.
