Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Dec. 9)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — It should be a nice Tuesday with sunny skies and warm temperatures; however things are changing up for the end of the week.

A dynamic Pacific storm is approaching the LA area. Timing on this system looks on track for late Thursday night into Friday. For Los Angeles, the worst of this will probably be Friday morning from just before sunrise to just after sunrise.

Expect a good two to four of heavy rainfall that will taper off to showers for the rest of the day.

This system is going to be more of a traditional winter storm with gusty winds and lower snow levels. In fact by Friday evening, snow levels could reach 5,000 feet with some accumulation.

Rainfall estimates right now look like one to two inches in the basin and valleys with up to four inches in some higher elevations. This will certainly be a threat for all of the recent burn areas.

Things should slow down late Friday and early Saturday and we should be dry by Saturday afternoon.

Sunday looks decent, but there is another wave of energy moving through on Monday so there could possibly be another shower there.
