Erase Marks With Semira Bayati's New Treatment

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Board-certified plastic surgeon Semira Bayati visited the KCAL9 studios Wednesday to talk about a new nonsurgical procedure to "erase" stretch marks.

With the joy of childbirth oftentimes comes some unwelcome disfigurations. It's not uncommon for women who have given birth to have stretch marks, and for the 33 percent of women who deliver via Cesarean section, surgical scars.

The Stretch Mark Eraser involves a pen-like device that uses a dozen fine needles to penetrate the skin's surface and can remove stretch marks and surgical scars. A special growth factor called platelet-rich plasma, which is extracted from the patient's blood, is then applied to the treated area.

It works by rejuvenating collagen and activating cell regeneration.

The cost of the Stretch Mark Eraser varies depending on the severity of a patient's stretch marks and Cesarean scars and the size of the affected area.  The greater the area, the more treatments required.

The number of treatments needed can range from a single treatment to five for severe cases. Each treatment is $700.
