Chino Man Accused Of Illegally Downloading Child Pornography In Custody

CHINO (CBSLA.com) — A 67-year-old man was in custody Tuesday for allegedly downloading pornographic images from blocked websites on public computers.

According to the Chino Police Department, Leo Negrette was taken into custody around 3:22 p.m. Monday at his home located in the 13000 block of Benson Avenue.

Officers explained Information Technology staff received alerts of Negrette attempting to access pornographic websites on public computers located at the Chino Senior Center in the 13100 block of Central Avenue.

Negrette allegedly performed searches that allowed him to get around the filters, and accessed images of child pornography, detectives explained.

Police said they contacted Negrette at the senior center in the process of downloading sexual images of children to a thumb drive.

They subsequently conducted a search warrant at his home. A computer hard drive, which contained over 1,000 images of child pornography, was discovered.

Negrette is being held at the West Valley Detention Center.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is urged to contact police at (909) 628-1234.
