Brush Fire Along 5 Freeway In Santa Clarita Limited To 1 Acre

SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) — Los Angeles County firefighters were able to keep a brush fire along the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway in Santa Clarita to an acre Wednesday, authorities said.

The fire was reported at 1:57 p.m. on the southbound Golden State Freeway at Lyons Avenue and put out within 20 minutes, Los Angeles County Fire Department Inspector Keith Mora said.

Firefighters in trucks were watching the area to make sure the fire did not rekindle.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
