Police Hunt 4 Suspects Who Attacked 69-Year-Old Woman For Her Rolex

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com)   —  Authorities are on the hunt for a group of men that attacked a 69-year-old woman in Hollywood and stripped her of a Rolex watch using a cutting tool.

The crime was caught on tape.

Police are looking for the three men and the driver of their getaway car.

The victim was forcibly held down by two of the four suspects. Another suspect stripped the watch and a gold bracelet from her wrist.

The incident occurred last Thursday around 12:45 p.m. in a rear alley in the 300 block of La Brea Avenue.

After the woman parked, the men are seen parking behind the woman. As she got out of her vehicle, three men dashed out of the car and surrounded her.

Two men held the victim down while the third used the cutting tool to cut the gold watch off her wrist. The cut resulted in a cut to the woman's wrist, police said.

The suspect vehicle is described as a mid 2000's black, 4-door BMW 740IL with paper plates and tinted windows. The car fled north from the crime scene.

The three suspects who exited the vehicle and took part in the assault are similarly described as white or Latino, male, 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 220 pounds.

The suspect who cut the victim's wrist while taking her property was wearing a silver jacket and silver pants. One of the suspects who held the victim down wore a black hoodie and black pants. The other suspect who held the victim down was seen wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans.

Detectives with the LAPD's Wilshire Division believe that the suspects are responsible for other robberies in the area and are asking for the public's help in providing any information that will lead to their arrest.

KCAL9's Rachel Kim spoke to a man -- parking lot attendant William Navidad -- who tried to stop the robbers from getting away.

He was working outside the Ca Brea restaurant when he said he heard a woman screaming for help.

"I just rushed over," Navidad says, "I saw them struggling."

Navidad ran over the car and tried to keep the driver from leaving.

"As soon as I opened the door, those guys were rushing back in. The driver grabbed the door back, we wrestled over the door," he said.

Kim said he then tried to hold onto the passenger door but by that time the car was in full motion.

"The car almost took me, too," Navidad said. "I tried to chase the car, but I'm not that fast."

The experience left Navidad with a bad taste in his mouth.

"They're punks," Navidad says, "They're just bullies. Big bullies. I guess I'm that kind of person who will jump to the occasion."
