KNX Special Series: Stolen Lives

(Los Angeles, October 14, 2014) – As drones take to the sky and security breaches targeting our banks, medical records and tax returns seemingly make the news daily, the erosion of personal privacy is growing at an astonishing rate. To explore this alarming trend and how to protect ourselves, KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO will present an exclusive, day-long series entitled, "Stolen Lives: Your Vanishing Privacy," on Thursday, October 30 from 5:00am – 7:00pm. The special will also stream live on cbsLA.com. 

With our privacy, safety and security at stake on a global scale, KNX 1070's award-winning staff of anchors, reporters, writers and editors will talk to experts from around the world to examine how things like cloud computing, 'smart' appliances and universal databases of medical records will make us even more vulnerable; how to keep our children and elderly protected; and whether there is any way to 'delete' oneself from cyberspace or to escape the penetrating grip of the drone generation.

"Stolen Lives" is being produced by Charles Feldman and Laraine Herman.

"It's scary enough when we are online and bombarded by mysteriously appearing personalized advertising, but to think that someone can take a photo of your house key and make a duplicate from it, or cause a cruise ship to change direction by hacking into its navigation system," Feldman said. "Just wait until drones and things like Google Glass become ubiquitous in the not-so-distant future."

A special edition of the KNX Business Hour with Frank Mottek at 1:00pm will delve into the financial impact of identity theft and how to protect your business from a cyber-attack.
