Victorville Family Calls For Traffic Light At Deadly Intersection

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY (CBSLA.com) — A Victorville family spoke out Monday after losing a family member in a traffic accident over the weekend.

According to officials, Dollie Wilson was driving with her family on Sunday through a four-way intersection when she was hit and killed by another driver.

Several others were injured in the two-car collision at Lindero Street and Cypress Avenue.

The intersection has two stop signs and is known for drivers that fly down the street and barrel through traffic signs.

KCAL9's Crystal Cruz spoke with Janet Rampenthal, who said the intersection in front of their home is a serious problem.

Rampenthal said her family is concerned a car is going to eventually hit their home.

"We were all in the house," said Rampenthal. "We heard a tire blow like an explosion."

The Wilsons said they want city leaders to install traffic lights and two more stop signs in the area to prevent more crosses being left from fatal accidents.

The city engineer, however, is waiting on the sheriff's report before making decisions regarding what is needed for the deadly intersection.

At this time, one cross from another fatal accident a few years ago can be seen in the area.

Authorities said speed and alcohol are being investigated in the crash.
