OC Residential Burglary Suspects In Custody After Leading Deputies On Pursuit

ORANGE COUNTY (CBSLA.com) — Threee man and a woman were in custody Thursday in what police suspect was their involvement in a residential burglary in Laguna Hills.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Department, on Wednesday deputies arrested Harold Nathaniel Reese, 28, of Los Angeles; Antwain Travon Smith, 28, of Los Angeles; Raven Samone Queen, 19, of Compton; and John Smith, 24, of Los Angeles in the Nellie Gail Ranch community for residential burglary and conspiracy.

Deputies said they were conducting sobriety checks in an area that also had experienced multiple residential burglaries over the past several months.

During the course of the patrol, officials saw a vehicle occupied by four people believed to be connected to a recent residential burglary, authorities said.

It was unclear where the burglary took place and what was stolen.

Sheriff's deputies said a traffic stop of the vehicle was initiated on Oso Parkway; however, the vehicle failed to yield and a pursuit ensued onto the northbound 5 Freeway.

The driver got off at El Toro Road and traveled onto several streets in the cities of Lake Forest and Irvine before leading officials onto the northbound 55 Freeway, deputies explained.

According to deputies, the pursuit ended after the vehicle transitioned back onto the northbound 5 Freeway and crashed near the Main Street exit.

Three of the four were taken into custody. The last suspect was taken into custody after fleeing on foot several minutes later in a parking lot near the Main Place Mall, officials said.

Reese was also arrested on charges of evading a police officer and is being held on $100,000 at the Orange County Jail.

The other suspects are being held on $50,000.

All four are scheduled to appear in court Friday.
