1 Wounded In East LA Deputy-Involved Shooting

EAST LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A deputy-involved shooting was under investigation Wednesday in East Los Angeles.

The shooting was reported just before 1 a.m. in the 5000 block of Olympic Boulevard, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

It was unclear what led up to the shooting, but two suspects reportedly ran from officials when they arrived on scene, prompting a deputy to shoot.

One suspect was wounded and transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.

The second suspect fled the scene and a search for him was underway.

No deputies were injured.
