2 Arrested In Hit-And-Run Death Of Wheelchair-Bound Pacoima Man

PACOIMA (CBSLA.com) — Two people have been arrested in the hit-and-run death of a wheelchair-bound man in the Pacoima area, authorities said Tuesday.

Manuel Dejesus Segovia Gonzalez, 40, of Pacoima was crossing Terra Bella Street just east of Cayuga Avenue at about 8 p.m. on Sept. 26 when he was struck by a vehicle that kept going, Los Angeles Police officials said.

Gonzalez was dragged about 100 feet. Paramedics took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Tatiana Cacho, 24, of Pacoima, and Christian Overa, 23, of North Hollywood, were arrested Monday afternoon, a few blocks from where Gonzalez was fatally injured, police said.

Cacho was booked on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and was being held on $50,000 bail. Olvera was booked on suspicion of being an "accessory after the fact" and was being held on $25,000 bail. No court dates have been set.

A 2005 Cadillac SRX, believed to be involved in the crash, was impounded as evidence police said.

Anyone with more information on the crash can call the LAPD's Valley Traffic Division at (818) 644-8000.
