Burbank-Bound Southwest Flight Diverts To LAX Due To Mechanical Issue

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)  — A Burbank-bound Southwest flight was diverted to LAX Sunday when the plane developed a mechanical issue.

Flight 1429 had 123 passengers on board.

After landing just before 6:15 p.m., the passengers were bused to Burbank.

"Out of an abundance of caution, the captain in command of flight 1429 from Sacramento to Burbank diverted to Los Angeles International Airport following an indication light linked to the aircraft's flaps. The flight made a safe and normal landing. Our Teams are now working with our customers to get them to their final destinations," said a Southwest Airlines spokesperson.

The spokesperson added, "Our number one priority is always the safety of our customers and crew."
