Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Sept. 29)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — It will be a slow start to a warming week. The low pressure system that gave us the hit of "fall" weather this weekend is now moving to the east. It could translate into severe weather for the midwest as it continues to push east.

We are smack dab in the middle of that low and a ridge of high pressure that is going to nudge into the west coast. This will translate into temperatures that are at or slightly below average for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

By Thursday the thermostat kicks into high gear. Expect temperatures to warm up well above average by 10 to 15 degrees through the weekend. In fact, the warm weather will linger into the beginning of the next work week.

There will be a mild offshore flow component and that will up the fire danger.
