Help Needed To Capture Palmdale Mail Thieves

PALMDALE (CBSLA.com) — The public's help is needed to identify two people authorities believe have been stealing mail throughout the Palmdale area over the past several months.

Detectives were able to get surveillance video of the two suspects, who have been prying open community mail boxes and taking incoming and outgoing mail in the early morning hours. Most of the thefts have happened on the west side of Palmdale, Los Angeles sheriff's Deputy Jodi Wolfe said.

Based on the surveillance video, detectives believe the two suspects are female, possibly white or Hispanic. The woman seen driving the vehicle appears to be heavyset, while the second female appears to have a thin build, deputies said. The vehicle used in the thefts was described as a light-colored 1997-2003 Dodge Durango.
