Police Release Images Of Man Suspected Of Torching BMWs
SANTA MONICA (CBSLA.com) — A man photographed Thursday is suspected of setting fire to several vehicles at a Westside BMW dealership.
The fires were reported about 10:40 p.m. Wednesday at Santa Monica BMW, located on 12th Street and Santa Monica Boulevard, according to authorities.
Witnesses reported seeing a man with a gasoline can on the lot and moments later, five vehicles were on fire.
Investigators obtained surveillance video from which they were able to capture images of a man suspected of torching the vehicles.
The dealership estimates the loss about $250,000.
Anyone with information about the man believed to have burned the vehicles is asked to call the Santa Monica Police Department.
