91 Freeway Lanes Shut Down In Corona As Firefighters Battle Brush Fire
CORONA (CBSLA.com) — Three lanes of the eastbound Riverside (91) Freeway Wednesday were shut down due to a brush fire, authorities said.
The blaze broke out about 1 p.m. near Gypsum Canyon Road in Yorba Linda and spread to about 10 acres in roughly 30 minutes, according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Concialdi.
By 3 p.m., the blaze had tripled in size to about 30 acres, Concialdi added.
About 100 firefighters were either on scene or en route to the fire, which was spreading at a moderate rate, Concialdi said.
The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert for all but the toll and far left lanes.

Traffic was stopped at the 241 Toll Road as CHP officers discussed closing the toll road's northbound lane and directing motorists to the westbound 91 Freeway.
Around 4:30 p.m., authorities said about 39 acres had burned and the blaze was about 25-30 percent contained.
One firefighter was also reportedly injured. OCFA declined to release the exact nature of the injury but described it as "a moderate injury."
By 8 p.m. Wednesday, officials said the fire was about 40 percent contained.
More than 90 firefighters will battle the blaze throughout the night, officials said.
