Police: Report Of Attempted Kidnapping In Azusa Was False

AZUSA (CBSLA.com) — A report that two people tried to kidnap an 11-year-old boy riding his bicycle home from a park turned out to be false, police said Wednesday.

According to Azusa police, investigators "determined the incident did not take place as originally reported."

"Investigators are confident no attempted kidnapping occurred," police said. "Due to the age of the child involved and the sensitivity of the investigation, no additional information may be released."

The boy's mother reported to police that her son was heading home from Northside Park on Monday night when he was accosted in the 300 block of North San Gabriel Avenue.
