WESTMINSTER (CBSLA.com) — A Rossmoor woman was charged Tuesday with murder in the shooting death of her 96-year-old mother.
Christine Marie Reynolds, 71, is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon in Westminster.
Police say Reynolds shot her mother, Gretchen DeStefano, in the head following an argument in their home in the 11200 block of Wallingsford Road.
Sheriff’s deputies went to the home around 4:20 p.m. Thursday and found DeStefano dead at the scene, according to Lt. Jeff Hallock of the Sheriff’s Department.
Reynolds, who is jailed on $1 million bail, faces 50 years to life in prison if convicted, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
