ONTARIO (CBSLA.com) — Detectives announced the arrest of two men Thursday who are accused of fatally stabbing a 28-year-old man.

According to the Ontario Police Department, officers received a phone call just before 11 p.m. on Tuesday, about a man who had just been stabbed in the 1500 block of East Sixth Street.

Witnesses reported two men flee who fled from the area in a silver four door sedan, officers said.

Once on scene, authorities said a male victim, Jeremy Stroud, was located on a sidewalk suffering from several stab wounds to the upper body and neck.

He was transported to the San Antonio Community Hospital in Upland where he underwent surgery. Stroud died at the hospital on Wednesday just before 9 a.m., officials said.

Detectives said Jeffrey Stojsich, 21, of Rancho Cucamonga and John Rodriguez, 29, of Ontario were arrested late Wednesday night on suspicion for involvement in the attack.

Both men were booked on murder charges at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, officials said.

According to police, the motive for the attack appears to be gang related.
