Former OC Day Care Teacher Arrested For Alleged Lewd Acts On 3-Year-Old Family Member; Other Victims Sought

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police Friday were looking for possible victims of a former day care teacher who was arrested for allegedly molesting his 3-year-old female family member.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, 36-year-old Thomas Burke Pulver was taken into custody on Aug. 15 in regards to an allegation of lewd acts with a minor in the La Mirada area.

During the investigation, detectives learned that the suspect was previously employed for about six months in 2008 as a day care teacher at the Kiddie Academy on Noyes Avenue in Irvine.

According to the Irvine Police Department, officers are working closely with the day care center in an attempt to identify families that may have come into contact with Pulver between January and June of 2008.

He was also employed by the Matt Kline Headstart child care center in Costa Mesa between December 2007 and April 2008, according to the Costa Mesa Police Department.

Officials said that other law enforcement agencies have been notified of this case and are conducting preliminary investigations to find other potential victims.

At this time, no additional victims have been reported in the Los Angeles County area.

According to the Norwalk District Attorney's Office, Pulver has eight felony counts against him. He was arraigned on Aug. 19 and is being held on $2.4 million bail.

If convicted, Pulver could face up to 15-years to life in prison.
