Wisconsin 'Deadbeat Dad' Arrested At LA Country Club For Failure To Pay $250K In Back Child Support

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A so-called "deadbeat dad" from Wisconsin was arrested at an exclusive Brentwood country club for failing to pay approximately $250,000 in back child support payments.

KNX 1070's Megan Goldsby reports Raul Cardona, 48, was arrested Aug. 5 on six felony counts. He had been a fugitive since 2008 when he made only one child support payment for his daughter in the amount of $424.38.

Milwaukee authorities traced Cardona's whereabouts to Los Angeles and found out he was living in Sherman Oaks via social networking sites.

"He had a very public Facebook profile, he had videos on YouTube," said Milwaukee County Assistant District Attorney Maureen Atwell. "He was not terribly hidden."

Los Angeles police and U.S. Marshals tailed Cardona, who was driving a 2012 Mercedes, to Mountain Gate Country Club, where he worked as a personal trainer, the Journal Sentinel reported.

Cardona, who also goes by the name of Raul Rodriguez, claims to be an international celebrity trainer and coach, according to his Facebook page.

He is also the creator of Zero To Hero TV.

Cardona will be extradited back to Wisconsin to face charges.
