Dodgers Place Hyun-Jin Ryu To 15-Day DL With Strained Gluteus

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) - Dodgers manager Don Mattingly announced before theier game against Milwaukee Brewers that Hyun-Jin Ryu will be placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right gluteus muscle.

The move is not a surprise for the Dodgers as Ryu left after 5 2/3 innings on his start Wednesday against the Atlanta Braves.

Ryu, who will be placed on the DL for the second time this season, has a record of 13-6 with an ERA of 3.28 in 137 1/3 innings.

Kevin Correia, who was brought up Aug. 11, will step into Ryu's spot of the starting rotation.

Correia won his debut with the Blue Crew against the Atlanta Braves, allowing one run on four hits.

Dodgers will also call up right-handed reliever Pedro Baez from Triple-A Albuquerque.
