Body Found On 10 Freeway In Boyle Heights

BOYLE HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) — A body was found on the eastbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway in Boyle Heights early Thursday morning.

The California Highway Patrol received a call at 1:44 a.m. for an animal in the roadway on the I-10, north of the Mission Road on ramp.

The CHP responded to the scene and found "a body laying on the right shoulder", officials said.

Upon investigation, authorities believe an unidentified pedestrian was struck by an unknown vehicle and died at the scene.

Several lanes of the 10 Freeway were closed for an investigation, however, they were all reopened just after 5 a.m., according to the CHP.

Anyone with information should contact the CHP at (213)744-2331.
