Arcadia Man, 57, Dies In Solo-Vehicle Crash In Azusa

AZUSA  (CBSLA.com)   —  Authorities said a 57-year-old man was killed Sunday in a solo-vehicle accident in Azusa.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Encanto Parkway just north of Foothill Boulevard around 1 p.m. Sunday.

On arrival, officers found the victim unresponsive.

The accident victim had been driving a white Toyota Tacoma. For some unknown reason, he lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a tree.

The unidentified man -- an Arcadia resident -- was taken to Arcadia Methodist Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of the accident is under investigation, and it does not appear there were any other vehicles involved.

The name of the driver is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.

The Azusa Police Department is asking for witnesses to please contact the Azusa Police Department's Traffic Bureau at (626) 812-3200.
