Broken Pipe Floods Target Store In Westwood

WESTWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A broken pipe flooded the Target store in Westwood Friday.

Employees were in the store, located in the 10800 block of Weyburn Avenue, when they noticed water dripping from the ceiling around 3:30 a.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

Firefighters were called to the scene and found a broken pipe upstairs where an old Best Buy location was being renovated.

Officials estimate that a couple thousand gallons of water were lost.

The store was closed for business Friday as a result of the leak.

"We are working diligently to assess the impact and be able to reopen the store for our guests," spokesperson Laurel Herold said.
