Water Main Break Floods Highland Park Streets

HIGHLAND PARK (CBSLA.com) — An 8-inch water main break flooded several streets Friday in Highland Park.

The 80-year-old main broke around 12:30 a.m. in the area of North Avenue 54 and Monte Vista Street, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Traffic was shut down in the area and 19 residents were left without water.

Some area businesses were using sandbags to keep water from getting inside. No property damage has been reported.

It was unclear what caused the water main break.
