"Earlier today, the truck carrying a portion of the Hello Kitty giveaway items was disabled and therefore the mugs did not make it to Dodger Stadium for distribution at tonight's game as scheduled," said the statement released by the Dodgers. "Those that did not receive the mug and were among the first 40,000 in attendance tonight will be given a voucher."

On Twitter, fans expressed their frustration on how they won't be getting their Hello Kitty mugs.

However, some fans like were lucky enough to get hold of the most-wanted mugs. Some even put them up for sale on Ebay.

On April 17, 2013 the Dodgers had a complete sellout for the Hello Kitty blanket giveaway.

To make matters worse for fans at the game, pitcher Clayton Kershaw's streak of consecutive shutout innings was snapped at 41 after a solo shot by Chase Headley in the sixth inning.
