FBI Agents Raid Atwater Village Ambulance Company

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Federal law enforcement agents Thursday targeted an ambulance company in Atwater Village, but officials could not immediately reveal the reason for the raid, according to reports.

KNX 1070's Megan Goldsby reports agents several FBI and LAPD vehicles were seen along the 3500 block of Casitas Avenue earlier this morning.

Workers showing up at Gentle Care Transport Inc. were scanned with metal detector wands and their bags were searched before FBI agents let them inside, Goldsby reported.

Agents went through boxes in the garage of that ambulance company, taking some away in a van, but it wasn't immediately clear what they were looking for, according to Goldsby.

An FBI spokesperson told KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO agents were executing a federal search warrant, but since the affidavit in support of that warrant was still sealed, authorities could not reveal the purpose for the raid.

According to the company's website, GCTI provides emergency transport services in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Diego Counties.

No other information was immediately available.
