Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (July 4)

STUDIO CITY (KCAL9) — Expect a slight warm-up in certain areas Friday.  However, the real noticeable change will be the humidity.

A the semi-permanent high that has influenced Southern California over the past several days has drifted over the four corner states (Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah). As the air circulates around that ridge of high pressure tropical moisture is pulled up from the south.

That moisture will increase humidity and the warm atmosphere will feel sticky. This pattern will remain in place through the weekend.

Expect to see a few clouds through the day Friday, but it should be great for fireworks viewing.

Look for high temperatures in the 90s for the valleys, 100s for the deserts. In the basin, basically mid-80s and upper 70s by the beach.

Hurricane Arthur continues to push to the northeast at 20 mph. The wind speeds are in the ballpark of 90 mph which makes the storm a Category 1.  It is expected to weaken as it pushes to the northeast.
