1 Teen Killed, Another Hurt In East LA Shooting

EAST LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot and another boy was injured Friday afternoon in East Los Angeles.

The shooting happened at 4:22 p.m. at Ditman Avenue and Sixth Street, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

Authorities said two boys, aged 15 and 17, were standing on the corner when a white Dodge Charger stopped in front of them.

Several men got out of the vehicle and one of them opened fire on the victims, sheriff’s officials said. The group then fled the scene.

The teens were taken to the hospital, where the older boy later died.

The other teen is being treated for his injuries.
