1 Injured, Homes Damaged In Rancho Cucamonga Brush Fire

RANCHO CUCAMONGA (CBSLA.com) — One person was injured and three homes damaged as crews battled a brush fire in Rancho Cucamonga Monday, a city spokeswoman said.

A San Bernardino County Fire Department spokesperson said personnel were dispatched about 4:50 p.m. Monday to the 8300 block of Red Hill Country Club Drive.

Francie Palmer, spokeswoman for the city of Rancho Cucamonga, told CBS2/KCAL9 2 acres of dense vegetation in the area north of Sycamore Inn and south of Red Hill Country Club had burned as of approximately 8 p.m. The fire was at 80 percent containment.

Palmer said three homes suffered "primarily minor exterior damage."

One person suffered minor burns to their feet and had been transported to a hospital.

About 100 public safety personnel were on the scene, including mutual aid personnel.

No evacuations were in place.

Access roads into the Red Hill area closed earlier in the day are open.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
