Whittier Man Stabs Parents, Sister During Argument

WHITTIER (CBSLA.com) — Police say a South Whittier man stabbed his father yesterday during an argument, then knifed his mother and sister when they tried to intervene.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. Saturday at a home in the 14000 block of Mystic Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies say Alexander Michael had an argument with his father and then stabbed him.

When his mother and sister tried to intervene, he reportedly stabbed them too.

Michael barricaded himself inside a shed in the backyard for more than an hour.

The 34-year-old surrendered without incident.

Deputies say Michael may have been on drugs.

The three victims are expected to survive.
