'The Shield' Actor Michael Jace Pleads Not Guilty To Murdering His Wife

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Actor Michael Jace, who played a police officer in FX's "The Shield", pleaded not guilty Wednesday to murdering his wife of 10 years.

Jace, 51, is accused of fatally shooting his wife, April, on May 19 in their Hyde Park home in the 5400 block of Brynhurst Avenue while their young children were present.

Police have not released a motive, but his wife's family has called her death a senseless act of domestic violence.

April Jace, 40, was a financial aid counselor at Biola University and had three sons, including two boys under the age of 10 with the actor.

Jace also appeared on TNT's "Southland" and starred opposite Russell Crowe in the film "State of Play".
