SoCal Rapper, 25, Shot Dead At Las Vegas Casino

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A 25-year-old man fatally shot during a music video shoot at a Las Vegas casino has been identified as an aspiring Southern Californian rapper, authorities reported.

Evan Plunkett, who went by the stage name "Hollywood Will," was shot Thursday night in the chest in the Sky Villas suites at the Palms Hotel Casino, Las Vegas police said.

Plunkett reportedly was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The shooting occurred in the middle of a group of approximately 40 people gathered to shoot a music video for Vegas rap group Tha LV Boyz.

Police have not released a motive for the apparent murder.

According to the United States Marine Corps website, Plunkett was born in Westlake and graduated from Marine boot camp at Camp Pendleton as an aviation mechanic.

Plunkett's website says he had been based in L.A. until early 2014, when he moved to Vegas.
