Dramatic Video Shows Crews Battling Blaze That Destroyed 3 Homes In Crestline

CRESTLINE (CBSLA.com) — Dramatic video from the San Bernardino County Fire Department shows crews battling flames that destroyed three homes in Crestline Wednesday night.

Cheyenne Crisp's grandparents' home on Matterhorn Court was among the structures that caught fire.

"[I spent] Halloween with them, just holidays coming over here," she said.

Crisp's grandparents got out of the home, but her grandfather went back in for his dog. He got trapped by the fire and jumped off the balcony, which caused him to break his ankle.

"It sounds exactly like something he would do. He loves that dog," Crisp said.

The dog, however, didn't survive, reported KCAL9's Crystal Cruz.

After the fire, most of Crisp's grandparents' belongings were unrecognizable except for an old car and a few family photos.

"I don't know if they will rebuild yet. I just don't know," Crisp said.

Resident Nancy Woodson was worried her home would also be destroyed.

"Gosh, there was so much noise. There was so much noise. It was just popping. It was exploding," she said.
