LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — There was a partial evacuation Thursday of Terminal 7 at the Los Angeles International Airport after a man stated he had a bomb in his bag.

The man reportedly walked up to the ticket counter and made the threat at 7:40 a.m., airport officials said.

A bomb squad responded, established a perimeter and evacuated the area near the check-in counters, according to authorities.

The bag was determined not to be a threat, and the scene was cleared. Terminal 7 reopened around 8:50 a.m.

The suspect was taken into custody before being transported to UCLA Medical Center where he will undergo a 72-hour psychological evaluation.

No flights were disrupted.
