Suspicious Package Prompts Evacuation Of Hollywood Metro Station

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — An unattended backpack Wednesday prompted the evacuation of Metro Red Line’s Hollywood and Western station.

The item was found at the entrance of the station just before 10 a.m. and an LAPD bomb squad was called to the scene.

The station, which is located in the 5400 block of Hollywood Boulevard, was shut down for roughly an hour before authorities deemed the backpack safe.

Normal train service resumed after the incident.
