Industry Trend Expert Discusses Natural Products Expo West

STUDIO CITY (KCAL9) — Carlotta Mast appeared on KCAL9 News on Sunday morning to discuss different food trends.

Mast is an industry trend expert and lead researcher with the Penton Natural Products NEXT data and insights team.

"I spend my time looking at food trends within the natural, organic, and healthy products space," she explained.

Mast says the Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim is expected to draw 65,000 attendees. The expo at the Anaheim Convention Center ends Sunday.

Among some of the big diets, Mast says "paleo" was the most googled diet in 2013.

"We're seeing more and more products that are being formulated to be very accessible to people who follow a paleo diet," she said.
