RANCHO CUCAMONGA (CBSLA.com) — Friends and family gathered Saturday evening to remember a security guard who was gunned down during the commission of a Mini Mart robbery last week.

Dean Sena’s loved ones remembered him as a kind and gentle soul.

Last week, his wife, Minda, echoed his kindness by saying that she didn’t feel hate for her husband’s killer, only compassion.

At the vigil this evening she said she hoped people could learn from her husband’s death.

“Forgive one another. Be ready. Life is short,” she said. “[It could end] at any time. You never know.”

Detectives have arrested suspect Diego Dominguez and charged him with murder and robbery.

Sena’s wife said she is praying for the suspect.
