13 Lake Hughes-Area Homes Evacuated Over Flooding, Mudslide Concerns

PALMDALE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say they’ve evacuated 13 homes in the Lake Hughes area due to flooding and mudslides.

In a statement, the sheriff’s Palmdale station said the evacuations on Friday afternoon were being taken as a precaution, as there was a significant mudslide on Lake Hughes Road.

Road closures are also in effect in the areas below:

-Lake Elizabeth Road at Lake Hughes Road

-Bouquet Canyon Road between Big Oaks Lodge and Vasquez Canyon Road

-Munz Ranch Road at Elizabeth Lake Road

-Ave T between Longview & 165th St E, in the Littlerock area

Soft Closures (Residents Only):

-Lake Elizabeth Road at Lake Hughes Elementary School

-Pine Canyon Road at Sawmill Road
