Winning Ticket For $425M Powerball Jackpot Sold Near San Jose

EL SEGUNDO (CBSLA.com) — It's official, the $425-million Powerball jackpot has a winner!

California lottery officials say the winning ticket, sold in Santa Clara County near San Jose, may not be the only one. They won't be able to confirm the final results until they hear back from the other 44 lottery jurisdictions.

Someone stopped in to Dixon Landing Chevron, located at 1551 California Circle in Milpitas, and got the magic numbers: 01-17-35-49-54, Powerball: 34, Power Play: 3

Dixie Landing Chevron has won big too: the business will receive a $1 million bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Two other tickets sold in California matched five numbers, missing only the Powerball number. One ticket was sold at an El Segundo 7-Eleven, located at 2161 El Segundo Boulevard. The other ticket was sold in Modesto at Stop Save Liquor #2, located at 1424 Coffee Road.

Lottery players had a one in 175 million chance to strike it rich after a winner was not picked after a dozen drawings.

The estimated cash value is approximately $227 million.

The jackpot is the sixth-largest in U.S. history, California Lottery officials said.
