SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — Fire crews Tuesday battled a massive house fire in the Box Canyon area of Simi Valley.

Six engines and 30 firefighters were on the scene of the blaze, which was reported at 4:10 p.m. in the two-story residence in the 7800 block of Miramontes Road.

Sky9’s Kevin Takumi reports the fire burned in the interior of the single family home.

Heavy smoke traveled through the entire Box Canyon area, Takumi said.

The flames did spread to surrounding brush.

The blaze was knocked down shortly before 7 p.m.

No injuries have been reported.
